GP Social Media Policy

Social Media Policy

Guernsey Police uses social media, namely Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as a method of communicating directly with the public. It enables police staff to quickly highlight issues, raise awareness of police work throughout the Bailiwick and to become even more aware of public opinion. We invite and encourage the public to 'like', 'follow' and provide feedback via these social networking sites.

The Police use of these social media accounts is solely for the purpose of factual communication.

The social media accounts are administered by police staff and are generally monitored during normal office hours. They are not routinely monitored 24 hours-a-day.

Facebook or Twitter should never be used to report a crime.  Our direct contact information is available here: Contact Guernsey Police
